Aluminum composite material (ACM) is made by bonding thin aluminum sheets to both sides of a thermoplastic core. Wieland-Wrisco is a distributor of ALPOLIC, produced by Mitsubishi Chemical Composites and recognized as the industry leader in metal composite material. ACM panels are used everywhere from building fascia and storefront entryways to curtain walls, canopies, and signage.
What is ALPOLIC ACM used for?
ALPOLIC panels work for both exterior and interior applications: building fascia, storefront entryways, curtain walls, cladding, service station canopies, and column covers on the exterior side; store fixturing, food service merchandisers, kiosks, point-of-purchase displays, trade show exhibits, and fascia systems on the interior side.
What finishes and colors are available?
Wieland-Wrisco offers all ALPOLIC standard stock, corporate identity, and preformulated products, with 70+ stock colors and custom color matching. Finish options include Matte, Solid Color, Mica, Metallic, Prismatic, Timber Series, Stone Series, Decorative Metals, Multi-Color, Pattern Series, Natural, Exotic Metals, and Anodized, backed by 10 to 30 year finish warranties depending on the product line. Polyethylene and fire-resistant cores are both available.
Is there a version for signage specifically?
Yes. COMPBOND ACM sign panels come in three aluminum skin thicknesses: Value Panel (.005″), Standard COMPBOND (.008″), and X-12 Premium (.012″). All accept screen printing, digital printing, and vinyl graphics, and the painted surface ships with a removable masking layer to prevent scratching in transit and fabrication.

What’s the difference between ACM and MCM?
MCM (metal composite material) is the broader category, made by bonding thin metal sheets to a thermoplastic core. ACM refers specifically to the aluminum-faced version, which is the most common type. MCM can also be produced with zinc, copper, stainless steel, or titanium facings.
Does ALPOLIC come with a fire-resistant option?
